Nintendo to enter the Smartphones market with games of its IPs

After the spreading of many rumors about Nintendo’s will to finally enter the world of Mobile devices, the firm announced today it’s bringing Smartphones content in collaboration with DeNA.

The company assured that the titles to hit Smartphones are going to be whole new games based on known titles of its own, instead of porting older titles of those franchises. All of Nintendo’s games are in the agreement which means we might see Mario, The Legend of Zelda, or even Metroid on our mobile devices.

“Both companies will develop and operate new game apps based on Nintendo’s IP, including its iconic game characters, for smart devices,” said Nintendo in a statement.

“To ensure the quality of game experience that consumers expect from this alliance of Nintendo and DeNA, only new original games optimised for smart device functionality will be created, rather than porting games created specifically for the Wii U home console or the Nintendo 3DS portable system.”
