Silent Hills officially Canceled, P.T demo to be pulled this week

A really sad news to all of Silent Hill fans and Kojima alike, as it looks like his departure from Konami is now confirmed after the cancellation of his most recent project in the company, Silent Hills.

It’s been a long time since we heard about any new game in this horror franchise. When Hideo Kojima surprised the world with the P.T (playable teaser) last year only for it to be Silent Hills teaser, co-directed with Guillermo del Toro and acted by Norman Reedus, everyone was excited. Especially that P.T was one of the most refreshing horror experiences this gen and it looked too good to be true.

Del Toro sparked the first flame when he answered a question about the state of Silent Hills after the struggle in Konami saying: “It’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart.” Fans panicked and demanded answers, only for a Tweet by Reedus confirming the news by saying: “Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it’ll come back around. Sorry everyone.”

As for Konami’s part, the official statement dealt the final blow: “Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.”

P.T demo is being pulled April 30. So be sure to download and play what could have been the best horror game of recent years.
