Competitive matchmaking support coming to Team Fortress 2 soon

Valve is reportedly bringing competitive matchmaking to its largest free to play shooter Team Fortress 2. Even though the game is more than 8 years old but support for the fun and quirky shooter never stopped and updates keep rolling regularly. No wonder giving that TF2 is one of the most played games on Steam right now.

In a visit by TeamFortress.tv team to Valve’s headquarters, it was revealed that Competitive matchmaking is indeed on the way to the game, and that it’s a “high priority” for Valve right now. According to the firm possibilities about 6v6 and 9v9 are being looked into, in addition to a quick play option and maybe some lobbies.

It wasn’t confirmed however whether or not these matches will be Manpower or Highlander based. You can watch the video below for yourself for more info:

Team Fortress 2 released on PC in 2007 and became a free to play title about 3 years ago on Steam.
