Rumor: Microsoft in talks to buy Silent Hills for Billions of dollars as an Xbox One exclusive

We definitely did not see that coming ! A new rumor emerged online from a reliable source close to Microsoft says that the firm is currently making a deal with Konami to buy the Silent Hill IP and resurrect Silent Hills as an Xbox One exclusive.

The source in question revealed to Rooster Teeth’s The Know Youtube channel Microsoft’s intention in resurrecting the project, which was almost 80% complete when Konami canceled the title on the background of the structural changes that were going on to focus on mobile gaming. If that’s true we could see a March 2016 release date for Silent Hills, according to him.

Treat these information as rumors, especially that buying Silent Hill for billions of dollars seem a little bit too much knowing that the franchise hadn’t been that popular in recent years. However, many people were interested again when the P.T demo dropped and became one of the best horror experiences this generation.

If true, Microsoft is planning to finish the deal for an E3 announcement as Xbox One exclusive. So the only way to see is to wait until June 16.
