No new “Elder Scrolls” title for a “very long time”
If you were expecting the next game in The Elder Scrolls franchise to be announced after the release of Fallout 4 this year, you’re in for a disappointment.
Bethesda’s VP of marketing Pete Hines spoke in a chat at Gamescom about the team’s focus, and it has been 100% on the development of Fallout 4 so there wasn’t any plans about the next project of The Elder Scrolls. Which means there won’t be a new title until a “very long time” as he described.
The latest title in the franchise, Skyrim, was announced in 2010 and released 2011. While the last Fallout game has been New Vegas in 2008 and only until recently we knew about the upcoming Fallout 4, which will be released in November. So if the company’s trend continues expect the next Elder Scrolls announcement to be years away from now.
