Original “Xbox” games might come to Xbox One in Backward Compatibility one day
Ever since the announcement that Microsoft made about Xbox 360 backward compatibility for the Xbox One, fans have been pretty vocal about what they want to see coming to their platform of choice. Some have gotten as far as requesting the original Xbox games that released in 2001 as well.
According to a recent Tweet by Xbox boss Phil Spencer, the idea isn’t even silly and might be possible. However, we have to wait until the 360 compatibility is in a go
“I don’t think it’s silly, I ask the BC team this question a lot. Need to finish 360 BC for now.”
Xbox One backward compatibility feature will allow Xbox 360 games to work using an emulated version that can be downloaded by the owners of that game, it then tricks the console into thinking that it’s running a native Xbox One game. Many games are now supported and waiting for the release of the service this fall while the others are being voted on every now and then.
