EA would like to have its own big game like Ubisoft and Take-Two

Electronic Arts has many great articles under its belt, but even the company itself believes it needs a title that competes with rivals Ubisoft and Take-Two in its vastness and scope. Will we be seeing a game that surpasses Assassin’s Creed and GTA V from EA ?

“If you look at the biggest segment in our industry, which is action, we don’t have a lot, EA is not known to make gigantic action games like Assassin’s Creed or Batman or GTA or those types of games that are really big. The strategic direction that we put in motion is to expand our portfolio more into that segment, to see what can we bring to gamers that maybe hasn’t been done before.” said vice president Patrick Soderlund in an interview.

Luckily, we might not wait for too long. As Soderlund confirmed that the new developing studio headed by Assassin’s Creed creator Jade Raymond will be leading this segment of games with the unannounced title as well as the rumored Star Wars adventure game with Amy Hennig -Uncharted writer- on-board.

“You need a leadership and people that have done this in the best and they’ve done it successfully in the past. That, coupled with a large ambition to invest in new IP. We want to. We’re building a lot of new IPs today but we want to invest more money into new IP.”

Meanwhile, EA’s upcoming games include Need for Speed and Star Wars: Battlefront, which will be releasing later this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
