Microsoft expects many Xbox 360 to migrate to Xbox One

Even though Sony’s PlayStation 4 is still in lead sales-wise for this year, the newly announced backwards compatibility feature that was revealed last E3 might make many people jump on board leaving their Xbox 360 behind, according to Microsoft.

Xbox One’s backwards compatibility allows Xbox 360 owners to play their previous games seamlessly. The feature was highly praised ever since announcement as it makes it easier to jump to the current-gen of consoles without losing access of older games that many people still play. Microsoft shared its thoughts about the idea and how it expects millions to migrate from the Xbox 360.

“There’s tens of millions of Xbox 360 fans that are out there that are still playing on Xbox 360 and they’re waiting for the right time and the right reason to migrate over to Xbox One, Whether they’ve been waiting for the first true next-gen Halo with Halo 5 or if they’ve been waiting for solutions like backwards compatibility, we do expect to see a pretty massive migration this holiday of those fans.”

This feature will be launching just in time for Holidays with the November update, and by November 12 more than 100 games will be supported for the users to download the emulated version of their games for free.
