More than 12 million Fallout 4 units shipped on launch day

Wait was finally over for a lot of eager fans when Fallout 4 released this week, and the numbers show that the game is enjoying some high sales and demand that required huge shipments of the game.

The huge success of Fallout 4 launch comes in the form of 12 million shipped units worldwide according to Bethesda, netting $750 million dollars in sales for one day. It’s also breaking records on PSN, XBL and Steam platforms. On Steam, the game became the largest played game with a concurrent number of users reaching more than 450.000 surpassing even Dota 2 and CS: GO.

“Major retailers have informed Bethesda of the tremendous consumer interest in Fallout 4 , with some noting it was the most pre-ordered game this year,Bethesda is now shipping more Fallout 4 units to retailers to meet ongoing market demand.”

The game currently has the fastest sales of any of the company’s past games including Skyrim which shipped 7 million on launch. The Pip-boy edition was said to be the fastest selling special edition in games history as well. Fallout 4 is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
