
Watch footage of this canceled Avengers first-person game
Looks like we almost had a first-person superheroes game based on “The Avengers” for home consoles, have it not for THQ’s closure in 2012.
Youtube channels Unseen64 and DidYouKnowGaming managed to have some details on the cancelled project as well as some footage of it. According to devs, the work on The Avengers started in 2010 by Studio Australia and Blue Tongue for the PS3 and Xbox 360, where the game moved from one vision to the other like from a third-person title to a first-person one with a different storyline.
The project ended up as a first-person game that emphasizes on Co-op play, and with a story similar to the Secret Invasion comic book. The game was planned for a 2012 release alongside the movie yet THQ going bankrupt prevented that from happening. The project now is no more but you can see some glimpses in the video below:
