World’s first 24/7 Esports TV to debut soon
Electronic Sports League (ESL) has just revealed its plans of launching the world’s first Esports TV that will broadcast competitive content and programs around the clock. The name is simply “eSportsTV” and it will have many things to keep Esports fans hooked to their TVs.
ESL confirmed that this move isn’t considered a direct competition to other streaming methods like Twitch or Hitbox. Instead, the two ideas can co-exist and complement each other. Competitions to be shown on ESL’s TV channel will include ESL One, Intel Extreme Masters, Pro League and more. The focus will be on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and StarCraft II at first.
So will you be able to soon watch CS:GO on your TV? Sadly, this might not be the case since the channel will be exclusive to Baltic and Nordic countries only on launch, with ESL saying there are talks with international providers to spread the channel’s reach further. Official launch is set in May and more info to come soon.
