More than $269 million dollars in revenue for Blizzard’s Overwatch

The new and beloved multiplayer competitive online game Overwatch has been breaking records and spreading all around the globe, and today’s numbers prove that it’s the hottest new online title out there.

According to market report from SuperData’s analysts, Blizzard’s Overwatch topped May’s digital revenue rankings with $269 million in earnings across all platforms. This helped push the PC market up by 8% which is something amazing for one game to do.

The overall digital games market was up 11% year-over-year, earning $6 billion in May. Subscription-based gaming on PC fell below $200 million in total monthly earnings. SuperData also provided figures for two other major May releases: Battleborn and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Gearbox’s FPS MOBA earned $18 million across PC and console, and Nathan Drake’s last exclusive game earned Naughty Dog around $56 million.
