Esports Integrity Coalition established to fight match fixing and doping in Esports matches
One of the biggest problems of Esports right now might find its solution soon enough with the establishment of a new organization that goes by the name of Esprots Integrity Coalition or ESIC for short. The organization was announced today at Lord Cricket Ground in London.
ESIC aims to fight match-fixing and doping, two things that caught some headlines the past couple of years. Partnering with developers, publishers, players and broadcasters, ESIC hopes that it can prevent these things from happening in the future by drawing a certain set of rules and investigating those who breach them.
“ESIC’s primary focus is to address issues of cheating in esports, with a particular focus on match-fixing and doping. The Coalition will take responsibility for all forms of the process, including drawing up rules, investigating breaches and then prosecuting those who flout them, while also working to prevent such instances arising in the first place.”
Some names that ESIC will be working with include Ubisoft, ESL, Dreamhack and Intel. Will the newly founded organization’s efforts make the competition more fair? that’s what we are waiting for to happen.
