Twitch officially bans showing CS: GO or Dota gambling on their website

After a heated couple of weeks for the CS: GO gambling scene, Twitch delivered a huge hit for content creators who relay on CS: GO and Dota gambling in their streams.

Earlier last week an official statement by Valve’s Steam platform declared that the service has nothing to do with gambling website and that the nature of Steam API was what made it easy to use the user’s libraries in such instances, stating that such websites will be now blocked by Valve. The next blow came from Twitch which now also prohibit streaming anything with relation to the gambling scene.

Twitch’s own user agreement prohibits broadcasters from streaming anything that shows them breaking a game’s terms of service. Or, as Twitch put it: “Content in which the broadcaster uses or promotes services that violate Valve’s stated restrictions is prohibited on Twitch.”
