Evil Geniuses drops zai and Fear from its Dota 2 roster and Suma1L leaves

Two well known Dota 2 players will be leaving the label officially, as it was revealed that both Clinton “Fear” Loomis and Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg are removed from EG according to Valve major registration site.

No official word from Evil Geniuses about the roster moves, and it will be the team’s first since the start of the Dota 2 off-season, which began with the conclusion of the International 6 earlier this month. Despite the team’s more-than impressive run at the $20.7 million event, which saw the roster defeat Newbee and EHOME before falling to eventual winners Wings Gaming, and finally getting eliminated by Digital Chaos.

Fear is one of the most legendary players in North American Dota 2 history. Having competed for roughly a decade in the title, the player was one of three subjects covered in Valve’s Dota 2 documentary Free to Play, garnering him the attention of an entire new generation of fans.

Not long after the news, it was also revealed that Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan has left Evil Geniuses as well. Sumail has been one of the brightest players in the Esports scene and it comes as a shock that the legendary 17 years old is leaving his team, but perhaps there were troubles behind the scenes that we didn’t know about.

We wish the players the best of luck in their new teams.
