IEM Oakland concludes with these teams as the champions
Both Ninjas in Pyjamas and Unicorns of Love showed exceptional performance to deserve being crowned as the champions at Intel Extreme Masters Oakland this morning, as they topple every other team in this competition for League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
As for the Swedish side it was a hard fight against the two times Major champions SK Gaming in the final match. NiP players bounced back from an early map lose at Train to win a heated competition on “Cache” ground 16-14. The final moments happened on Cobblestone as the Europeans put the Brazilian side to sleep announcing their reign as the best CS: GO team this year so far. Congrats NiP on the 1st place and $128,000!
Moving on to League of Legends, Unicorns of Love continued their great performance hinting at a lot to come next year as they crushed Flash Wolves with full map domination. The highlighted players here are Top laner Tamas “Vizicsacsi” Kiss and ADC Kim “veritas” Kyoung-min who showed a great fight especially in Game 3. However, the straw that broke FW’s back was the mid laner “Fabian “Exileh” Schubert who showed us an amazing carry performance in Game 2 and 3. Despite several attempts to come back, FW failed to yield any actual results as UoL was crowned champion with 1st place win and $50,000.
So that was it for IEM Oakland. We hope to see even more heated competitions when the Intel organized event comes back next year bigger than ever.
