Immortals win big at Overwatch Winter Premier

Thanks to the amazing skill of Christopher “GrimReality” Schaefer and co, the month long Overwatch Winter Premier came to an end with Immortals on top after tough competition by Ghost Gaming.

The final match got both teams head to head and could be summarized with three heroes: D.Va, Zarya and McCree. The destructive combination of Ghost Gaming’s Zarya graviton surge and D.Va’s self destruct gave Immortals a tough time at first, but a little delay in execution of that combo provided Immortals with an opening Ghost Gaming regretted soon enough as it was momentum for Immortals from that point on, winning both second and last map and taking the championship title with 3-1.

Immortals takes home $40,000 of the $100,000 prize pool, while Ghost gets $20,000. Luminosity Gaming earned third, and compLexity Gaming came in fourth. Fierce competition throughout the months of play for the Overwatch Winter Premiere only bodes well for the Overwatch scene in the future. We’ve got a lot to look forward to.
