New Twitch feature to compete with traditional social media
If you’re reading this on our website, chances are you’re into “Twitch”; the broadcasting platform where all of your favorite players from the Esports scene usually stream. With this new update, you might never need any other social media to stay connected with them
Twitch introduced a new way for broadcasters to connect with their viewers, and it’s calledTwitch’s Pulse. The feature adds a Facebook-like newsfeed to the streaming website’s front page where both streamers and fans can post just about anything, from status updates to pictures and schedules and stream highlights.
Anything streamers post to their channel feeds will be broadcast to friends and followers. Streamers will see the option to post on the broadcaster dashboard or channel feed, while viewers will be able to post from the front page. Roll outs for the Pulse feature started already for a select few and will continue through the next few weeks until it’s officially launched. For now, posts will show up in chronological order, but Twitch plans to adjust that to determine the content viewers want to see. All broadcasters will see channel feed auto-enabled in mid-March.
