DreamHack renews Twitch partnership
Amidst what looked like the doom of CS: GO competitions on Twitch, DreamHack has announced that it has renewed its partnership for 2017 confirming it will not go the same path as ESL Pro League and ECS in partnering with the video streaming (and recently broadcasting) giant Youtube.
All of DreamHack’s upcoming events will be streamed to Twitch, including DreamHack Astro Open, DreamLeague, DreamHack Masters, and the DreamHack Hearthstone Grand Prix circuit.
DreamHack was one of the first to adopt Twitch as a streaming platform; the two companies partnered in 2009 via former parent company Justin.tv.
“It’s not everyday in this space you renew a partnership entering its 9th year,” said CEO of DreamHack Marcus Lindmark in a press release. “We are proud to continue to partner with Twitch, knowing they are as committed to the development of esports and gaming as DreamHack.”
The next DreamHack event will be hosted at the Austin Convention Center on April 28-30. DreamHack Austin.
