Sledgehammer is making Call of Duty: WWII a more authentic game than Battlefield 1
After months of leaks and rumors about Call of Duty going back to its World War roots, Activision had finally revealed on April 21 that we’ll be seeing the first trailer at 26 of the same month. More than 3 years have passed since the modern approach of the series, so is it the right time to go back?
Activision and Sledgehammer are looking into making this year’s Call of Duty the best World War game available in the market thanks to how much realism the studio is seeking this time. Unlike Battlefield 1 which mixed prototype weapons with real world situations, CoD: WWII is said to be authentic to the source material.
According to a number of videos released by the company after the announcement, the game will be as authentic as it gets. Michael Condrey, the chief operating and development officer for Sledgehammer, released a video on Twitter to explain the team had been researching WWII for over 2 years. Those claims have also been backed up by a leaked game description and screenshots found of the game on the Call of Duty WWII website.
So will Call of Duty be more realistic than Battlefield this time? We’ll have to wait and see for ourselves when the game releases in November for all three major platforms.
