WCA 2017 global finals for Dota 2 and CS: GO delayed till next year
World Cyber Arena (WCA) organization revealed its decision in delaying the awaited finals in CS: GO and Dota 2 until 2018, with WCA 2017 main event originally planned in December of this year.
WCA 2017 finals will now be gathering the world’s best teams in 2018, after a decision was made to take other events, players’ busy schedules, and Holiday season into consideration. The exact new date is not yet revealed, but you can expect it to be sometime around the end of upcoming ELEAGUE Major January 2018.
eSports Middle East organized the MENA qualifiers for the event in October, where teams from all around the Arab world participated in CS: GO and Dota 2 qualifiers for a total prize pool of $100,000 and a spot at the main WCA 2017 event in China.
First place winners were Orcus (led by Team Liquid‘s Miracle-) in Dota 2 and Next Generation in CS: GO. The two teams will have a tough mission facing off against some of the best teams in the world in both respective games like Na’Vi in CS: GO and Team Empire in Dota 2, with a prize pool of over $700,000.
