DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 announced with the first details
DreamHack has announced its first Masters event of 2018, to take place in the Swedish capital of Stockholm.
The event, which will be held in partnership with City of Stockholm and Stockholm Live, will culminate with the playoffs at Ericsson Globe on September 1-2, with a group stage due to be held from August 29-31.
This will be the fourth Masters event in the history of DreamHack, following two stops in Malmö and one in Las Vegas, and, just like the previous Swedish iterations, it will continue to feature 16 teams and a $250,000 prize pool.
The event will also mark the return of DreamHack to the Ericsson Globe after the famous indoor arena hosted the Stockholm CS:GO Invitational, in 2014, which was topped by Titan.
“We are tremendously excited to head to Stockholm with DreamHack Masters,” said Marcus Lindmark, DreamHack AB CEO and President.
“Stockholm is the home of the DreamHack headquarters, and Stockholm Live has some of the best facilities available globally, so we are going to have everything at our fingertips to produce the best esport event and experience possible, for both viewers onsite and online.”
More information about DreamHack Masters Stockholm will be revealed “in the coming weeks”, according to the event’s organisers, with event tickets due to go on sale on February 28 at 11:00.
G2 are the latest DreamHack Masters champions after beating North in the grand final of the Malmö event, which took place from August 30 to September 9 at Malmö Arena.
