Homefront IP bought by Deep Silver, Crytek UK isn’t the developer anymore
Reports about Crytek’s financial problems seem to be true, as the recently announced title “Homefront: Revolution” got sold over to Koch Media and development handed to its new Dambuster Studios in Nottingham, UK.
Crytek UK’s Homefront team was transferred to Koch Media, as the Crytek’s statement says :
“[They] will continue their hard work on upcoming shooter Homefront: The Revolution. Both parties hope to finalize and implement a deal soon.”
“We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,” says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media Group. “We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path they have been walking in the last years.”
Crytek is said to be in a transitional phase of moving from developer to a publisher, with Ryse 2 being canceled and now Homefront getting sold to Koch.
Homefront: The Revolution was said to be released in 2015 on PC, PS3/4 and Xbox 360/One.
