A funny Mad Max easter egg shows us why there won’t be Half-Life 3

Easter Eggs are funny things developers usually insert into their games in reference for other stuff from popular games or movies, and that’s what Avalanche Studio did in Mad Max. A hidden easter egg shows us a hint of why there isn’t a Half-Life 3 game yet.

One of Reddit users posted pictures of what appears to be the corpse of “Morgan Freeman” the Half-Life series protagonist dead and crippled. His eyeglasses and the arm holding a crowbar makes it no mistake that it’s him, but the “3” painting seals the deal in an apparent nod at Half-Life 3 that may never see the light of day.

Mad Max is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. The studio’s other big game Just Cause 3 is also coming to the mentioned platforms later this year.
