All of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 campaign levels to be available from the start

In what might be somewhat of a strange decision, Treyarch developers are making all of the campaign levels in this year’s Call of Duty title available from the get-go. You’ll be able to play the game however you want without a specific order.

The reason why according to campaign’s director Jason Blundell is that the gamers’ community has “matured”, and they longer need to be forced on anything. The content is owned by the player so he can play it in whatever order he sees fit. Do you want to flip the pages to the last one? now you can.

“Consumers and game players in general are far more mature these days. There are so many things vying for our interests today. It’s about, how do they want to consume it? Maybe they put it down on level two, and then they’re in work the next day, and some guy says, ‘Dude, you’ve got to check out level four!’ And he’s like, ‘Okay, I’ll have a quick look.’ That’s totally fine. I think it’s their choice.”

Black Ops 3 story won’t rely on one final moment, so it’ll be fine if a player plays an advanced level because he’ll eventually want to know what led to this point. That’s what Blundell confirmed.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available November 6 on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Last gen version contains only the multiplayer portion in addition to Black Ops 1 campaign for free.
