
Apex Legends Twitch Rivals tournament announced with top streamers battling for $200k
Just a few days after its successful launch, it seems that we are about to see the first tournament of the new battle royale title Apex Legends with a number of top names in the world of Twitch, in collaboration with the developer Respawn Entertainment
The upcoming tournament is a part of Twitch Rivals series, and it sees 48 of professional streamers such as Shroud, Dr. Disrespect and more Twitch celebrities fighting for their share of a $200,000 prize pool. The competition will be divided into two parts, one for the European continent and the other for North America, with a total prize of $100,000 per region.
The Apex Legends Challenge will not have the usual division of esports tournamet, but rather queues teams against random rivals in a race for wins and kills. The event will begin on February 12 and end on the 19th of the same month and will be broadcast on the Twitch platform from the perspective of each streamer participating in the tournament.
Tournament Details:
- Eight teams of three players per region (EU & NA)
- Teams will play separately on the Internet in an attempt to score as many points within 4 hours
- Points are distributed by winning 5 points for each win and 1 point for each kill

Apex Legends is the latest game in the Battle Royal genre, and offer a unique style of play inspired by CoD and Titanfall games, as well as special abilities similar to Overwatch. It was launched a few days ago by Respawn Entertainment free to play on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 The reception has been positive so far, with more than 2 million players on the first day of the release with a rate of 600,000 concurrent players.
