
Barcelona’s Gerard Pique speaks about eSports project
Big football clubs from around the globe, famous players and more are investing in the new and coming business of Esports, and Gerard Pique is the latest name to join
Gerard Piqué, center back for F.C. Barcelona and the Spanish national team, announced a big esports project on El Món a RAC1 radio show. He spoke about it being a from-scratch kind of project unlike other players buying existing teams. He didn’t reveal much details but promised it to be a very large project.
The Spanish player might be going the Rick Fox route, who created his own brand, Echo Fox. In fact, Piqué isn’t a newcomer to the larger games industry, either. He started a video game development company called Kerad Games in 2015, which employs about 30 programmers today, and has a created a couple of games, most successfully its football manager game, Golden Manager, for iOS and Android.
