Bethesda: Sacrificing graphics level in Fallout 4 was for the sake of gameplay complexity

Most of us had seen the amazing reveal of the open-world RPG game Fallout 4 during the events of E3. And even though it looks like a dream comes true but many players expressed their worry about the graphics fidelity of the game and that it doesn’t look as great as other ones out there. So what was Bethesda’s excuse to sacrifice graphics in this game?

Speaking to one of the interviews, Pete Hines addressed some points regarding the next release in the Fallout franchice. He went through the graphics issue that the internet was divided discussing. Even though the graphics aren’t Uncharted 4-level of details but the developers at Bethesda preferred to focus on the gameplay and tune down the graphics for the sake of the overall experience.

“Everything that we do is a balance. We could make the best looking game possible, but we dial some of that back in order to allow for all of these other things,” he said. Referring to the complex gameplay that allows you to interact with everything you see in the game’s world and affect it. Describing that level of interaction as one that no other game allows.

What do you think? We see that the level of graphics in that game is already beautiful and not as bad as some make it out to be. Even though there are prettier games out there but the freedom of gameplay and exploration in a vast world is what sets Fallout games apart from other titles.

Fallout 4 is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 November 10.
