Black Desert Online sales reach 400k in the first month

It looks like the Western audience embraced Black Desert well enough as the sales have now reached more than 400 thousand copies since release, says Daum Games.

“Considering the upward trend, I expect that the game will achieve over one million sales this year,” said publisher Daum Games Europe CEO Min Kim. “What’s impressive is these figures far exceed those in the domestic market.”

The company saهي part of the game’s success was thanks to it adopting “a premium business model for Western audiences,” as opposed to the free-to-play model. Those who purchase the game are provided access to all content updates for free. However, some cosmetics are sold for real money and those are selling quiet well as well according to Daum.

Black Desert Online was released March 3 in the Western market.
