Brazilian teams put on a show at DreamHack Austin and win big
As we all expected, the finals of this year’s DreamHack Austin CS: GO competition brought together the two best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams in North America, and they were both Brazilian: Luminosity Gaming and Tempo Storm.
Players of the two teams put on quite a show at the finals where Luminosity Gaming emerged victorious and claimed the first place after a fast 2-0 series, both games ending in a comfortable 16-9. The two teams showed us that Brazilian teams are a force not to be reckoned with, and they’re here to dominate just like in other sports.
Luminosity’s captain, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, has been a strong proponent of the Brazilian scene, founding the Games Academy organization which Tempo Storm’s roster played under before being acquired. When asked how he felt about going up against his protégés, FalleN said: “I don’t mind if we win, this is already a victory for us. Though it would be nice for us to win.”
The competition ended with players of both teams showing a respectful act of chaning in-game tag with <3 and the name of their opposite mark. Congratulations to LG and TS on the win!
