Call of Duty sales exceed 250 million units
Huge numbers are what we got used to from the most famous shooting franchise Call of Duty, which proved that even though it’s getting a lot of flack recently it’s still the best selling game every year.
In 2015, Activision said that Black Ops 3 was the best selling release in that year by a wide margin. This made Call of Duty one of the few franchises that exceeded 250m units in sales ever since its release till now.
“This also marks the seventh year in a row that Call of Duty has been the #1 selling franchise in North America, according to NPD, In fact, Call of Duty has surpassed 250 million units sold life-to-date worldwide. This achievement is thanks to the amazing experiences created by all of our development teams, and would not be possible without the incredible passion from the Call of Duty community.”
Activision promises players that 2016 is going to be a special year for the franchise, with the release of Infinity Ward’s upcoming game that was in development for three years. Will it break the curse?
