
Comfest 2017 presents Kuwaiti gamers with a series of gaming competitions and events
Comfest 2017, short for Comic Festival, was a comics, cosplay and gaming con held at Kuwait’s International Fair Ground from April 27-29. It gathered gamers from the area under one roof where they competed and had fun with each other in a series of competitions organized by “Extravegaming” with a prize pool of $13.000.
A big selection of games was chosen to cater to the biggest demography of gamers in the region. From handheld titles like Pokemon sun/moon to Overwatch on PC, 550 players were able to test their might in multiple genres like Speedrun and Esports games.
Overwatch’s one vs one tournament saw 32 players on both PC and PS4 for a prize of $2000, while over 64 players played Naruto: Boruto road to the Ninja on PS4. On the other hand, Pokemon saw 24 trainers facing each other using their 3DS systems. The event also had other activities like cosplay show offs, 1-2 Switch competition, Resident Evil 7 VR, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, and more games from Steam on PC.
