Competitive mode finally coming to Team Fortress 2
After talking about including the most-requested mode in Team Fortress 2 for a long time, it looks like we’re finally getting Competitive in the few upcoming weeks according to news.
Up until now, when you play Team Fortress 2 you have to browse servers and choose the one that suits you. This is set to change with the introduction of Competitive mode where you can join games with players of your same skill, in similar fashion to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for example.
Valve is currently testing the new mode and it opened the chance to participate in the beta with an official Steam group. To join the Competitive beta you have to be one of the Team Fortress 2 owners prior to 2013 or have bought at least one thing from Mann Co. store. You also have to have a protected account with mobile authenticator and phone number.
