Counter Logic Gaming wins Halo Championship and takes 1$ million home
Halo World Championship had had the largest FPS game prize pool in all time thanks to the 2.5$ million on stakes. Today, the winner of $1 million dollars and the first place got announced and it’s none other than CLG.
North American teams dominated the championship with seven out of eight quarter finals teams. CLG proved to be the very best and was expected to have the win which indeed came true when they beat Allegiance in the finals 4-0.
Counter Logic Gaming is the first team to win a seven-figure prize in a single Esports event that isn’t related to Dota 2. Total prize pool of 2.5$ million was achieved thanks to the fans who raised 1.5$ million of it through the sales of REQ packs similarly to Dota 2’s Compendium. The second place runner-up Allegiance took home 500000$ for reaching the finals.
Congratulations to CLG on their Halo 5 deserved win, and hard luck to all of the other teams.
