Development on Darksiders 3 has officially started
Looks like the “Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition” re-release we were met with last week had another purpose for developers when it released on PC and current gen consoles, according to Nordic Games developer.
When THQ went bankrupt few years ago its titles were bought by many studios that claimed their copyrights. As we all know by now, Darksiders belongs currently to Nordic Games. The studio having promised worthy titles in the franchise released an enhanced edition of the last game in order to test the waters for the inevitable third game which apparently is under development now.
“Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition was just the start. Since we acquired the franchise we were looking for options for doing a DS3. The remaster was just a way to get some spotlight on the franchise again, reactivate the community and have a better starting position for DS3.” Speaking on Steam’s forums.
We can safely say then that Darksiders 3 development has officially started. We can’t wait to see what will Nordic Games bring to the action platformer title. Until then, Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition can be found on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
