Documents that may be related to Half-Life 3 discovered inside Dota 2 update
The appearance of some text documents that have leaked by mistake on the internet sat the gamers’ world ablaze. Many had their hopes back up that Half-Life 3 might still be a thing and that it may be in development at Valve after SteamDB’s discovery.
The site discovered three text documents (coincidence?) holding the names hl3.txt, RPG.txt, and ai_basenpc.txt. When looking at the files it’s easy to see that they’re some sort of guidelines to a development tool, with references to weapons and specific gadgets as well as AI programming of enemies and alike… Could the “hl3” be a reference to Half-Life 3 the long forgotten sequel to Gordon Freeman’s adventure? Or was it some kind of old files dumped here by mistake? We’ll have to wait for Valve’s official comment if there was any.
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is the last game in the franchise released for PC in 2007.
