Don’t expect Final Fantasy VII Remake to be identical to the original
Even though Square Enix’s latest projects that sat the internet ablaze is called a “Remake”, it doesn’t mean that it will be identical to the original release 100%, confirmed Nomura.
“We’ve announced an HD port version on the PlayStation 4, and then we have the remake coming to PS4. You’ll have this extremely, very, very pretty FFVII existing on the same plane. We feel that if that happens, it’s like, why have the same exact game?” Said Tetsuya Nomura, the game’s director.
There wasn’t a mention to what exactly will change, are we getting a new gameplay system or some new story events? Nomura assured fans that it won’t be different beyond recognizing. As the game will still have its famous moments like when Cloud did a cross-dress to save his friend Tifa in one of the game’s section.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is still a placeholder title, as the official name will be revealed this winter. We’re waiting for more information down the road as well as a release date. But for now we know that it’s coming to PS4 first then “Other Platforms” later on.
