ESL, Dreamhack sign streaming deal with Twitter
Two of the biggest Esports tournaments’ organizers in the world, ESL and Dreamhack, has announced the new deal with popular social media platform Twitter.
A joint statement by ESL and Dreamhack revealed that more than 15 of their events will be streamed across Twitter in 2017, starting with IEM’s Katowice CS:GO tournament on Saturday March 4th.
“Esports is growing at a rapid pace and we see this collaboration as a way to tap into the engaged audience of gamers that are already using Twitter as a primary source of content. By partnering with the leading esports companies like ESL and DreamHack, we look forward to bringing the best of esports live video and conversation together on Twitter.” stated Twitter COO Anthony Noto.
Twitter has been expanding its streaming business since its inception last year, as it currently broadcasts many sports events like the NFL games and now Esports and the likes.
