EA makes more money from extra content than games themselves

Some might be surprised while others will nod their heads and say “EA..”. The games company that came under fire for many of its acts and its strategies in additional contents proved that these extra contents are actually what makes the most money compared to other digital revenue. This includes everything from Mobile to Subs to even Full games themselves.

Even though additional paid content have gained bad reputation among gamers, yet it looks like there are a ton of people buying them and giving up to the shiny new maps or weapons skins. According to the latest financial revenue report EA revealed that these contents’ sales are double the amount they were in the last quarter.

You can view the complete diagram below. Worth mentioning that Season Passes fall under the category of “Subs/Ads”, which makes it even more outrageous that these percentages are for individually purchased DLC content. This might make EA push the DLC content even more in its upcoming titles like the anticipated “Star Wars Battlefront”.
