Each part of Final Fantasy VII Remake is a full sized game

There were many conflicting opinions lately about the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake being episodic after Square Enix’s announcement, but today’s news will make that a bit more acceptable to fans.

According to Square Enix, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is going to be a series of full games like Final Fantasy XIII was. The clarification came courtesy of the game’s producer Yoshinori Kitase in an interview with Game Informer.

“It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. Whereas with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we already have a pre-existing story, so it wouldn’t really make sense if that isn’t encompassed in a multi-part series. So if we’re just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy 13 game.”

Kitase also confirmed that the game will be no less than three episodes,  saying that the separation was necessary since the studio want to remake the game with the smallest details as well as expanding certain things like world exploration.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming in 2017 for PS4 and PC with no definitive release date.
