ESL announces upcoming Pro League seasons with $2 million prize pools
Not a week had passed since the 4th season of Pro League CS:GO finals concluded in Sao Paulo, Brazil and ESL has already released details regarding the upcoming seasons of 2017, including the prize pool that is now $1 million for each season.
Increasing the prize pool by 25%, both seasons in 2017 will have a $1 million dollar prize pool, up from $750,000 during 2016. Cloud9 walked away with $200,000 after defeating SK Gaming in Season 4 last week on its own soil.
Season 5 will take place between February 7th 2017 through to the global finals on June 3rd and 4th in Dallas, Texas, at the Verizon Theatre. It will be the first time ESL will have held their Pro League finals in North America. The current setup is catered to Europe and North America, however the press release does state that it will be expanding both team numbers and regions.
