Fable Legends is going to be Free to Play
Multiplayer Co-op RPG title Fable Legends is going the F2P route according to the surprising announcement of Lionhead. As you’ll be able to play this 4vs1 adventure with your friends for free with the inclusion of paid add-ons like costumes and heroes just like “Dota 2” and “League of Legends”.
The game will follow the likes of these two MOBAs in regards of having free, rotating heroes on the course of every two weeks. In case you wanted to continue playing with that character you’ll have to pay either in-game cash or real money. Rest assured though as Lionhead confirmed the game won’t ever be a “Pay to Win” title and every player will have the same experience.
“There are free-to-play games like World of Tanks out there that are very much a pay-to-win kind of experience,” Fable Legends director David Eckelberry said in an interview.
“For me the better ones for the customers are the ones where you get to enjoy all of the content without paying money. And then you pay if you want to. I want them to have such a fun experience that some percentage of them go, okay I’m going to buy a hero that just came out, or I’ll get a new hairstyle and a cool-looking hood.
“That’s the kind of feeling we want to generate in our players where, we’ve offered them such a good time that they’re spending time in it that they feel valuable.”
Fable Legends is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs exclusively this year.
