FaZe Clan beats Immortals to the IEM Katowice 2017 grand finals
The first semi-finals of IEM Katowice held a bad surprise for Immortals team, as they stumbled in front of the unstoppable force of FaZe Clan.
Match started on Inferno, and despite a pistol round win for Immortals on T the CT side then won another 6 in a row to gain an impressive 7-1 lead before Immortals finally managed to get themselves back on the board. It was too late from the Brazilian team and they still faced a 9-6 deficit heading into halftime. FaZe got off to the perfect start on their T side by winning the pistol and following anti-eco rounds. Immortals then responded with 3 of their own before FaZe regained control. The NA team soon closed the map out at 16-9.
Moving on to Mirage, Immortals picked up their CT pistol round and gave themselves the opportunity to get off to a better start. Despite an equal score of 3-3 at the start, The Brazilians managed to win six more rounds and losing only three at the first half, closing it out at 9-6. FaZe opened up with 4 quick rounds after switching to the CT side. Immortals found 1 for themselves but were immediately reset. FaZe Clan never looked back after this. The team strung the remaining rounds together to close out the second map with a 16-10 score.
FaZe will now be facing either Heroic or Astralis at the Grand Finals tomorrow, and we’ll have to wait and see who it’ll be in tonight’s second semi final match.
