Final Fantasy XV story telling to be similar to The Last of Us

There’s no doubt that the long-awaited RPG director has confidence in its story to compare it to The Last of Us, but what he meant really is that the “unforced” way of how the story unfolds will be similar to Ellie and Joel’s adventure during gameplay.

It’s known that Final Fantasy games often rely on flashy cinematics to tell their stories, and while XV will be no stranger to that, it will also be using conversations and stuff that happen during gameplay to narrate the story as well just like The Last of Us and other games.

“We are really trying to aim for something where the gameplay and storytelling are really one in the same, It’s important that the story progresses through the gameplay in a very unforced way, in a similar way that it was done with The Last of Us, for example.”

The wait is almost over, as Tabata vowed that he and his team will be working hard to finish the game this year and no other delays will be made. Final Fantasy XV is to be released on PS4 and Xbox One.
