First female eSports organization in the Middle East launches with top CS: GO players in the world
The Middle East is an interesting region when it comes to eSports. Despite having huge potentials with many players reaching international stardom, support has been a bit scarce from the inside. However, this is bound to change soon enough with more organizations joining the industry latest of which is Royal Emirates Sports
Announced by former Al-Hilal and Bniyas player Christian Wilhelmsson, RES Gaming has been launched to be the first female eSports organization in the region and one of the biggest supporters of female players in the Middle East.
Led by Wilhelmsson himself and backed by Royal Emirates Sports organization overseeing over 1 million square meters of sports facilities, RES Gaming hopes to mark a shining position for itself with its top class Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster of female players that is the first to be based in Dubai, UAE.
“We believe in ambicious, confident and highly interesting profiles” says the official website, launched alongside Wilhelmsson announcement on Instagram.
The biggest surprise about the announcement was the roster itself, consisting of the world renowned ex Team Secret squad who’ve played for Dynasty not long ago. The players are:
Zainab “zAAz” Turkie
Julia “juliano” Kiran
Ksenia “vilga” Kluenkova
Anna “Ant1ka” Ananikova
Christine “potter” Chi
The organization is expected to expand into other competitive games in the future, as it definitely inspires more female pro players to come out of the region and encourages female gamers to pursue their dreams of internet stardom amidst the previously male-dominated scene.
