Football clubs enter the world of Esports with deals from Schalke and West Ham United

Two news were in the spotlight in the Esports scene tonight which are new deals made by the Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 and English Premiership’s West Ham United regarding branching into Esports scene.

The deals come in a time where Esports recognition has been gaining momentum worldwide. reports confirmed that FC Schalke is looking into expanding into Esports with today’s deal of acquiring Elements’ European LCS. West Ham United in its turn has signed a contract with Sean “Dragonn” Allen, who you may know from the latest FIFA Interactive World Cup 2016 where he lost the grand finale to “Mohamad al-basha” in a 5-5 draw.

Allen will represent the club officially in tournaments and such. He was given the number 50 jersey to wear and he’ll first use it this weekend when he competes in “Gfinity Play Like a Legend” finale.

Will we be seeing more football clubs jumping on the wagon of Esports? Imagine such a deal from Real Madrid or Barcelona.
