GAMES14 convention summary

Yesterday was the last day of GAMES14 gaming convention , Middle East’s biggest event that took place in Dubai, it lasted 3 days starting September 11 which marked the event’s first day for the region’s gamers inside the Middle East and even outside it.

GAMES convention was held for the first time in 2008 through the efforts of many international companies like Microsoft Gulf, Playstation Middle East and Africa, Pluto games and many more.. The convention isn’t only targeted towards trying new games prior to its release in the market , but there also is a place to show the newest devices in the gaming world and trying it as a marketing and advertisement method and undoubtedly .. it is important to try these games and consoles to form an opinion about them before making a purchase. not only that but the show’s ground includes a stage for competitions and making new relationships with other gamers from around the region ..

“We are proud to witness and be part of the growth of the event and look forward to welcoming fans to another weekend of fun filled entertainment”, said Nitin Mathew, CEO of Cygnus Communications, the show organizer.

This year’s event we witnessed many competitions of various games like “Street Fighter” and “Fifa 14” , as well as Cosplay and other fun activities. Number of attendants to GAMES14 reached more than 23 thousand people.

Sony announced through the show’s stage a surprise that many Arab gamers were waiting for which is adding Arabic language support to the Playstation officially with the next firmware update, the decision was made because of Arab gamers demands in adding their mother language to support the console’s sales in the region and expand the player base .. not only that but Sony also surprised us that Driveclub and LittleBigPlanet 3 will also support Arabic.
