GIRLGAMER Esports Festival second CS:GO event revealed

Grow uP eSports have announced the second edition of the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, featuring an invitational female CS:GO tournament with $11,550 on the line.

Running from July 20-22 at Casino Estoril, near Lisbon, the festival aims to “celebrate and promote female esports competitiveness” and will include an esports business conference in addition to CS:GO and League of Legends tournaments.

Dignitas fe, the winner of the first GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, which took place in Macau, will return to defend their title in this four-team tournament, which will also include Copenhagen Games champions Singularity fe and the popular RES squad.

The tournament will feature a double-elimination format, with the winner of the best-of-three grand final taking home the grand prize of €4,000 ($4,620).

“The underlying idea of GIRLGAMER was born from the belief that esports competitions should be universal and inclusive,” Grow uP eSports CEO Telmo Silva said in a statement.

“However, the female representation in the professional Esports scene is still very low. Therefore, as a way to develop and motivate women’s competitiveness, we created GIRLGAMER.”
