GODSENT wave their final goodbye to CS:GO scene

A wave of despair is it or an inevitable fate? Today, we have another unfortunate news this time about the GODSENT team in the world of CS:GO.

GODSENT have announced that they have ceased all operations with immediate effect.

In a Twitlonger post, GODSENT stated that the decision was made “unanimously by all the parties” involved in the management of the organisation and that shutting down was “the best solution for everyone involved.”

The announcement comes just a week after GODSENT’s team, currently ranked 19th in the world, was acquired by Red Reserve. The transfer came months after it was reported that GODSENT’s owners were looking to sell their stake in the organisation.

Created in April 2016 by Markus “pronax” Wallsten and capital investor Toms Martin, GODSENT quickly became a regular on the international circuit. In 2017, they made their first – and only – appearance at a Major, in Atlanta, after winning the Europe Minor and sweeping through the offline qualifier.

“On the one hand, we are happy to be able to look back and proudly say we believe we have achieved something special within the beautiful game of CS:GO and its scene,” a statement from GODSENT reads.

“We have brought up uprising Swedish talents who are currently playing at the highest level of CS:GO. We have left our small footprint inside the game for the history books, and we have contributed to shaping the current Swedish scene.

“On the other hand, we feel that GODSENT will always be our baby, our passion, so it is sad knowing we have to let it go for now.

“To our fans and to all those who supported GODSENT, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. It has been a privilege to have had you so close to us throughout this journey.

“We hope that, one day, our Illuminati-looking logo will once again take everyone by surprise. But until then, all we can say is: farewell, friends, much love.”
