Halo fans are working on bringing it to PC

Ok, maybe not the entire game or series but the first three ones, and only the multiplayer portion, but this project is still worth a look. A team of fans revealed their free project in bringing the Halo experience back to PC with the multiplayer portion of the first three games without needing Microsoft to do so.

This fan project is called “Installation 01”, and it’s an independent game that emulates the experience of the first three Halo games. This small team noted however that the game is completely made with their efforts and they’re not breaking any laws or rules with releasing their game for free with no profit whatsoever.

“We are abiding by Microsoft’s Fair Use Policy and their Game Content Usage Rules,” the creators said about the legality of the project. “Everything in the game is fan created and can be legally downloaded and distributed in accordance with the Game Content Usage Rules. We are not out to make any money, even to cover costs.”
